For the first time in the UK unique pieces of clothing created by up-and-coming fashion designers of African-descent will be available to purchase at a sample sale held at the historic Africa Centre in the heart of Covent Garden on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 June 2009.
MOTIFS Sample Sale brings together under one roof a wealth of brand names including award-winning designer Danielle Morgan, critically-acclaimed ethical label Lalesso, quirky Maame Baryeh London, urban-chic Simone Williams, Paris-based designer-to-the-stars duo BezemyMailan, cheeky streetwear 50Fifty Clothing and many more.
The event aims to make their creations known to a wider public of savvy shoppers and accessible to all budgets.
The sale caters mostly for women, although menswear will also be represented. All items – from ready-to-wear to couture - will be up for grabs at discounted prices.
